What decorations do you provide for a normal 2 hour party
For all celebrations children’s party tables are set with paper plate, cup, paper honeycomb decorations. In house streamers behind the cake table with cake stand and paper honeycomb decorations. Additional decor provided with some packages, (please check package inclusion under parties’ tab)
You are also welcome to bring your own additional decor to the space as well however please be mindful when sticking things to the walls. We recommend the command products that can be removed without damage. No tape, or sticky glue dots please.
How many people can your space accommodate?
play nook has a comfortable capacity of 150 guests
party bookings are for a minimum of 10 children
Sensory and Neurodiverse Considerations
our aim at play nook is for everyone to have a positive experience when visiting the play space for a play or celebration. thoughtful consideration has gone into the design with areas designed for quiet and imaginative play as well as the more traditional play structure with a muted colour pallette utilitsed to minimise sensory overload, however, it can be quite noisy at times particularly during celebrations and on wet days. we are in the process of sourcing some resources to have available to assist but do recommend parents/carers having noise filtering resources with them.
Is there a limit to how many adults can come?
You can bring as many adults as you like, we do recommend booking an exclusive use party or venue hire if you are having more than 50 people total.
Can I bring my own food?
For all 2 hour package options all catering must be organised through play nook. You may bring a cake and treat bags. Any special dietary requirements should be communicated to the play nook team well before the party date.
Cake cutting and service
play nook will take care of the cake cutting for you and will provide plates and cutlery for this.
Coffee and drinks
play nook will have a barista available for all celebrations and have a range of coffee, tea and cold drinks available. You may arrange a tab or guest can pay as they order.
water is always freely available on the counter for all guests.
Self catering
If you would like to organise your own catering of self cater your event you will need to book our Private Venue Hire options. please see our information on venue hire .
Please note: due to insurance and food safety guidelines access to the Play Nook kitchen will not be permitted nor will team members be able to warm food. all cutlery serving wear is the responsibility of the host or catering company.
Can we have a piñata?
Sorry but there are definitely no piñatas allowed or anything else that could introduce choking hazards into the space
Can we have an entertainer attend?
Yes. You are most welcome to have an entertainer/face painter attend for you event. please contact the team if you would like any recommendations.
Can we buy/bring alcohol?
No, play nook does not currently have an alcohol license.
How long do we have to set up, can we come in early? How long do we have to pack up afterwards?
Parties run for one hour and forty five minutes with 15 minutes at the end to hand out party bags and say goodbye. You may come in 15 minutes prior to your party for set up, you must leave promptly at the end of your allocated time. If you need more time this is sometimes available but must be requested well before your party date.
Do we get a party room? Do we have a party host?
Because the space is closed to the public on weekends and we only run a maximum of two parties at a time there is no need for party rooms, you are allocated your own personal tables and space. We do not provide a party host but you are welcome to hire an entertainer.
What is the cancellation policy?
$288 non-refundable deposit required (fully refundable in the event of COVID lockdown / COVID restrictions). Balance paid one week prior to the event.
Cancellation for any reason within seven days of the event will result in 50% of the total invoice being payable.
Do you cater for allergies?
We will do our best to accommodate allergies. The play nook team follow food safe practices and will prepare foods in line with allergy requirements however we can make no guarantees that no cross contamination will occur. We are happy for parents to provide allergy safe foods for their child if they would prefer.
Do you have high chairs?
Yes we have 6 high chairs that are in the space for you to use at your convenience.
Can party guests bring siblings?
Additional children attending but not seated at the party table are just required to pay and entry fee please see below:
0 - 5 months: No charge
6 - 11 months: $5.00
12 months+: $14.50
